I’m going to reveal something not too many people know about me, or would have guessed.  I love video games.  I know that this isn’t some unusual passion, but you don’t see too many 30 year old, mothers of 3 slaying Mortal Kombat (or at least don’t hear many admit it).  Many of us claim we only play to spend time with our husbands or kids, but that just isn’t true.  In my younger years, I remember seeing the sun come up after an all-nighter of Final Fantasy Tactics.  The past few mornings, I played Shrek 2 with my daughter only to “help” her beat the game.  Taking after both parents, my 8 year old daughter loves video games as well.  Now after doing some research, my husband and I are drooling over the PS3 even though we can’t afford it.  I really want one because of this game:

Yes, you saw who you think you saw there at the end.  I know all you closet gamers are psyched about it too!

Saturday we had Zane’s birthday party.  Since he loves to swim, it was a no brainer to have it at a pool.  We had 3 fun filled hours of swimming, cake, and playing on the playground.  Here are some pics from our great day!

Since I have yet to post anything about my georgeous baby, Miles, here’s a litte video for you.  What can I say about my sweet baby?  He gets into everything, very curious.  Hates naps and bedtime.  Would stay awake all day if I let him!  He absolutely loves attention like none of my others!  Go ahead and eat on him (I know you want to!) through your computer screen!

So last week I went with my girl, Kellie, to this great store and bought this purse:

For some reason, I love this purse in a way that I have never loved another.  Is it because it rekindles some of my youth that seems to be quietly slipping away from me?  Is it because it’s largely outside of my norm of getting one in black,  brown, or white to go with everything?  (That’s the functional “mom” side of me talking.)  Will having this make me a more fun and exciting person?  Whatever the reason, I find myself planning my outfits only so that I can wear this purse.

You must admit, it’s a little bit awesome.

Today is my sweet boy’s 7th birthday!  I thank God for blessing me with such an amazing child.  Although he has his good days and bad, he has made myself, my husband, and our family so much stronger.  It was by people we met through my son’s autism that we were discipled to and saved.  We know why God gave us such a special child; it was His plan for us.  He knew that it would take something big to get our attention.  We love you, Zane!

Revelation 7:16-17

I truly believe in the power of prayer.  I’ve seen it work in my life and in the lives of people close to me.  My husband and I have been going to Elevation Church now for about 3 months and have been really moved by the circumstances surrounding our worship pastor.  More than just the circumstances, their faithfulness in God is so encouraging.  It gives me a vision of how I want to be.  Check out his blog and pray for his little girls!

My friend and I were out shopping and she noticed people who didn’t smile at my beautiful baby.  She commented that she doesn’t trust people who don’t smile at babies.  I would agree with that, and I also will add that I don’t trust people who don’t like The Office.  There’s something unnatural about it.
